Rocky Frizzell, has been training and instructing self defense and combat systems for over 30 years. He started in Judo in 1993, began Ren Bu Kan Shotokan karate in college in 1996 where he earned his first Black belt from Gregory "Tex" Jones and the late Japanese Shotokan Master Shigeru Takashina in 2001. He continued his Shotokan journey earning a second degree from Master Randy Patterson, Ren Bu Kan USA and Master Pietro Zaupa Ren Bu Kan Italy in 2003. Sensei Frizzell was named North Carolina regional director for Ren Bu Kan USA and was nationally certified by the USA National Karate Federation (USA Karate), the national governing body for karate in the United States as a Dan certified Nidan, State Judge and Coach. He left Shotokan and began training in an Okinawan system called Ryukyu Hon Kenpo Kobujyutsu under instruction of Master Ed Hershman, where he has been promoted to the level of third degree Black belt. Mr. Frizzell recognized the great benefit of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and began BJJ training in 2011, now he is an officially authorized Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Brown belt Coach for Master Cleber Luciano. Also, Coach Frizzell was Krav Maga instructor certified in 2015 with Krav Maga Maleh. Master Guy Dar, Krav Maga Maleh Israel, promoted Frizzell to 2nd Degree Black belt in August 2022 and is currently serving as the the Director for Krav Maga Maleh USA appointed by Master Dar himself. As a certified Gracie Survival Tactics Instructor, Coach enjoys teaching law enforcement, public safety and security personnel. Â Â Â
